Thank you Jerry! That's a great idea. I always carry a little journal with me, and I spent some time on the bog as evening fell, writing down my observations.😊

This reminds me of the time I was taking a summer course in a field station in Uganda and me and a couple others randomly decided to spend a night out in the forest with no preparation, because we could never have a chance to do such a thing again. We slept miserably and the most exciting sighting was a glow worm. We probably scared away all the forest animals with the awful racket we made.
Haha, thank you Pedro! A glow-worm is a wonderful find, even if it might not seem like the most exciting one. The best trips are often the ones where there's no pressure to pack perfectly.😊🌿
Thank you Sara! It might sound strange, but I hardly ever feel afraid of wild animals or the natural world when I'm out in nature. It's when there are houses or other people nearby that I start to feel uneasy. That's one of the reasons I love exploring remote islands by kayak.😄🌿

I have wanted to see cranes myself for a long while , but haven’t succeeded yet, even if there is a lake about 10 kilometers from here, where it should be possible.
Cranes really are a wonderful sight. I definitely recommend going to see them if you know a place where they gather. We often see them in the fields on our way to our cabin, but I especially wanted to see them on the bog. It had a completely different atmosphere. Thank you Karen!😊🌿
