Magic. In this day and age where people are addicted to smart phones, it's wonderful to see you and your kids outdoors skiing, making cowboy coffee, exercising the 5 senses, inhaling cold air and breathing out warmth and inspiration.

I grew up with cowboy coffee (in the northern part of Sweden near the arctic circle). The measuring of the coffee was like this: a small lemming (lämmel) should be able to run across the coffee/water without drottning! 😄

Amazing post! I would love to go cross country skiing, however it is not an option in the very hilly Romanian countryside where we live. I've never cross country skiid before, only downhill skiing once - I never got past pizza. Wishing you a magical winter!

Two perfect parts of a good day outdoors. Today a friend and did short walk in a favorite park. It was shorter than normal because it was minus 17 F with windchill at -22F. Followed the walk with breakfast at a favorite restaurant.
